I’m Melissa — a mother, writer, and licensed mental health therapist sharing honest reflections on motherhood after loss. I am the mother of two daughters: one here in my arms, and one forever in my heart. Our first baby girl passed away in August 2023 at 20 weeks, an experience that forever changed me and shaped the way I understand motherhood, faith, and healing.

In July 2024, our story continued with the birth of our rainbow baby, Samantha — a name that means “God has heard.” She is strong, radiant, and full of life. Inspired Mama Blog is a space created to honor both of my daughters and the journey that connects love, grief, and hope.

Inspired Mama Blog is a faith-based motherhood blog focused on pregnancy loss, grief, postpartum healing, and emotional healing. Here, I share personal stories, reflections, and encouragement for mothers navigating life after baby loss, postpartum changes, and the deep identity shifts that come with motherhood. This space exists to remind you that you are not alone — and that healing and grief can coexist.


My Life Beyond the Blog

I’ve been married for over eight years to my best friend and partner in life. Together, we’re raising our daughter in a home rooted in love, emotional connection, and intentional parenting.

My faith in God anchors me, especially during seasons of loss and uncertainty. After losing our daughter, Scripture and Christian devotionals became a source of strength, grounding me in hope when the path forward felt unclear.

I’m also a licensed mental health therapist, passionate about helping women and mothers heal from trauma, anxiety, and life transitions. My work centers on breaking generational cycles and creating emotionally safe families — values that deeply influence both my professional work and the writing I share here on this blog.

I love travel and dream of exploring God’s creation with Samantha — from Yellowstone and Maine to Italy and England — creating meaningful memories while nurturing curiosity, wonder, and faith.

Stillness and reflection are part of my daily rhythm, even if it’s just a few quiet minutes. These small pauses help me stay grounded in motherhood, and I hope to show my daughter that caring for her heart and inner world matters.
